Welcome to stART! I hope that you will enjoy our story and art project and maybe even share your own too. All I ask is that you link back to A Mommy’s Adventures somewhere in your post by either adding my button or a text link, so that others can see all the other great projects that everyone shares too! The linky will be open all week. Be sure to stop by and visit the different links…every week there are so many different and fun book and craft ideas!
Check out the stART tab in my navigation bar where you can find our past stART projects. All the books that we have read and did a stART project for are listed in alphabetical order.
This week we read I Ain't Gonna Paint No More!, by Karen Beaumont. This is a really cute story about a child that is not allowed to paint anymore because his mom found him painting all over the floors and walls. So he decides he is going to paint is body instead. He is just going to paint his head, but can’t resist covering his entire body in color! I read this book to our Art Group and then after each child was able to paint their hands and then print them onto a piece of paper. Or they could trace their hand on the paper and paint just the paper. Off course since painting your hand with paint is so much fun, they all opted for that option! Emily did decide that she wanted to try both since there was room on her paper.

That would be a fun book to read, with bath paints on the ready.
My 5-year-old loves that book!
Really cute! I have to admit though, I would be a little worried they'd mimic the painting on the floors behavior! I'm sure my 4.5 yo would understand but not sure about my 2.5 yo. Oh, well, I guess it is all washable!
Good to know there's a book to go along with what my kids sneak in on me!
Look at those sweet little hand prints!
(Oh, and I LOVE David Catrow's illustrations- he MAKES me want to write a book for him to illustrate!)
That looks like so much fun. It looks like the cutest book.
I've looked for this book at the library and they don't have it. It sounds like a fun read.
We just heard this book at the librar. It is super cute!
Love this book and Great project!
I LOVE this book!!! I'm almost past my limit on library checkouts!!!! ;)
I can't believe I am JUST finding your blog and this awesome way to share great ideas! I am a librarian and I am always looking for great projects to do with my kindergarten classes! Thank you!
My Little M would love, love, love this one! She paints paper, front and back and then works on herself. I have to watch her REALLY closely. I think I'll use bath paints and let her paint herself. . .and the walls!!!
