The other day Emily and I had a great time making some puffy paint pictures together. It was even more exciting to share them with Juliette! After they came out of the microwave and cooled for a little bit we set it on Juliette’s tray to see what she would do with it.
To our surprise it did not go into her mouth!!
She loved touching and feeling the different textures. The smooth paper is a great contrast to the stiff, rough puffy paint.
We love puffy paint. We have made the kind you put in the microwave, but our favorite recipe is 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, and 1 cup of water mixed thoroughly. Then add a few drops of food coloring. WE always put it in those cheap dollar store ketchup and mustard bottles and squirt it on whatever canvas the kids are using. We still have one creation they made last year hanging in our playroom. They used foam core for their canvas and it held up great to the puffy paint. It still looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. We love puff paint here too. It's always exciting to see your creation transform in the microwave.
ReplyDeleteJuliette must have had a ball feeling the bumpy paint.
Puff paint is one thing that we have not made. We'll have to try it someday.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, we must try this one :)
ReplyDeleteoo what a fun sensory activity!
ReplyDeleteLove this. I have an older one and a little one. This is a great way to involve both! Btw, hope Juliette's surgery went well. Sending prayers your way!
