We literally spent a good portion of the day (6 hours to be exact) at the hospital because we had to take Juliette for a MAG 3 Renal Scan. She was diagnosed with a Megaureter and had to go for this test to see if she needs surgery to fix a blockage. I have no words to describe how I felt listening to her cry and call “Mommy, Mommy” while they put in an IV, a catheter and while we held her down for 40 minutes for the scan. It felt so good to hold her and hug her once it was over.
It looks like she was pretty happy to be held, too.
ReplyDeleteAwww, so sorry Michelle! I cannot imagine having to go through that!! I will say a prayer that everythings ok.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest son had to be hospitalized for two weeks when he was two years old. He underwent so many tests, and it was extremely difficult for me. Luckily, everything ended up fine and he is very healthy today. It's so hard to be a mom sometimes.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so cute in that picture. I hope everything is okay.
Aw, how awful!!! I had to hold ER down for a scan when they thought she might have dislocated/broke her arm and that was bad enough. Only for like five minutes so I can't imagine a more involved forty minute ordeal! Probably worse for Mom than Juliette!
ReplyDeleteHow traumatic for you. What an ordeal for both you and Juliette.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet picture of Juliette. What a gorgeous girl she is!
Sorry you all had to go through that. Hope to hear good news about this.
ReplyDeleteoh bless her heart - poor thing! Hugs to you too - as a mom I know how you feel. Glad to hear it's over! Keep us updated! :)

ooo thats a tough day! I remember having to hold Sammy down for a catheter around that age and it was tough.. I can't imagine for that long.
ReplyDeleteOoooo- ouch! For her AND you!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your hospital visit. Hope she won't need surgery! Must have been very distressing for you - we were in hospital with our little one when she was tiny and I remember thinking it would be so much worse if it was Red Ted who would be crying and calling for me (What I am trying to say that the slightly older ones are old enough to show their distress without understanding why it is happening). You are very brave!

Yuck! Sorry you had to have a hospital visit for the little one. E has had that test 3 times now. It's not fun, no matter how little or big they are!
ReplyDeleteThat is so hard. Watching them go through the IV and tests and such is the worst! I hope everything is alright. Thinking and praying for you guys.
ReplyDeleteE has a pelvic kidney and had a ureter that was not connected to her bladder - it went to her urethra instead. She also had reflux up to her kidneys on both sides. She had surgery a little over a year ago to correct the ureter placement and fix the reflux, but we are still dealing with UTIs about once a month. Wreaks havoc with potty training! :) E goes in on Tuesday for a vaginoscopy, hopefully we'll get some answers about why she keeps getting infections. Good luck with everything for Juliette!
