stART ~ Duck on a Bike

Welcome to stART! I hope that you will enjoy our story and art project and maybe even share your own too! The linky will be open all week.

duck on a bike

This week we read Duck on a Bike, by David Shannon.  This is a really cute book about a duck that decides to take a bike for a ride around the farm.  All the animals think duck is silly, but at the end you get to see how they really feel!

Since Emily has been enjoying cutting and coloring I thought it would be fun for her to make Duck on a bike.  I found a duck printable and a bike printable for her to color and cut out.

Emily colored in the bike and the duck.  She used red since the duck road a red bike in the book.

Emily cut out the duck and the bike all by herself.

Emily glued white feathers onto the duck and then glued everything onto a piece of construction paper.

Very sweet! We love this book too. Gluing the feathers on the duck was a wonderful addition. :)

The duck turned out super cute! There's a whole series of duck books like this, and they're all so fun and cute.

That book is so fun to read. I adore the illustrations. My daughter loves feather crafts so we are hoping to make some fun pictures for Easter.

Love your craft! My girly isn't cutting any shapes yet, so I'm very impressed. Good job, Emily!

I am so impressed with how well Emily can color and cut. It's so true that different children have different strength - Emily totally rocks in arts.

I am so sad- I will not be posting this week due to a lack of energy in our house- we have been doing good just to make it through the "basics"...

I WILL be looking a everyone else's "Feathery Fun and Fabulous" activities- I am so glad you have this weekly link up!

Emily has cut out her pictures so well. I love the finishing touch of adding some feathers. Such a fun, creative project and the combination of colouring and gluing would be a hit in our house too.

That Fruit Salad Salsa song sure is catchy. I love upbeat children's songs like this that make you want to get up and dance around. I love Emily's shaking and jumping actions and how she is so happy towards the end of the clip.

Congratulations on your blogiversary. You and your blog have been a blessing to me. I am inspired by your creativity and ideas. I really enjoy stopping by to visit you here.

We read this book often, but have never done a craft or brought the story to life in auch a creative way. Thanks for the great idea!!
