We have had a real Christmas Tree since our First Christmas that we were married. My parents kept a piece of the trunk of their first Christmas tree in our garage (it may actually still be there now!!) That inspired me to make these very special ornaments for our tree.
Michael cut a thin piece of the trunk of the tree right after we got it home. Then he drilled a hole at the top and I decorated it with glitter paints.
Our First Christmas Tree
Emily’s First Christmas Tree
Juliette’s First Christmas Tree
Now we will always have a piece of our first Christmas Tree, and the Girls will have a special memory of their first Christmas Tree!

Hi Michelle
I wanted to drop by to wish you and your family a "beauty full" Christmas and a New Year filled with health and happiness.
Your tree trunk ornaments are so very special - such a wonderful idea. Your girls will always have a piece of their very first magical Christmas to treasure.
The picture of Emily and Juliette in the post card with your Christmas wishes, from the previous post, is absolutely adorable. What a stunning photo of your beautiful girls.
aww very cool idea!! I wish we had done that! I am sure your girls will love holding onto those over the years!
Ohhhhh, that is AWESOME!! Love it!
I think that is the best first ornament I have EVER seen. Kudos to your folks and you for doing it...and too bad we have a fake tree.
This is such a neat idea... for real trees :) Your family picture looks wonderful, and I am wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
I absolutely love it - I love the history, the creativity and the beauty! Have a Merry Christmas!

What a lovely idea- I think that's the best part about ornaments- the memories they inspire!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
This is such a great idea--wish I had thought of it years ago!
That is such a clever idea! If we ever get a real tree I will have to remember this. So smart Michelle!
Hey Michelle, my email thing is not working (it keeps saying I'm entering an invalid password?!), but I have a question for you. I know that you guys do an art/learning group with some friends (because I'm super jealous of it!!) and I was wondering if you could explain it a little bit. I have some friends that may be interested, and I really would love to start something up. But, how do you run yours, how often, how many people...?? I'd love any info!!

It would be fun to do, but I don't think my hubby would like it if I tried to whack the bottom off our fake Christmas tree, eh?
