A Story + Art = A Great stART!

This week we read Five Silly Turkeys, by Selina Yoon. This is a fun counting book where five turkeys have a great time doing some very silly things. Emily enjoyed pretending to dance and twirl around like the turkeys.
We have already made a few turkey projects already, but when I went to my friend’s house and saw this cute q-tip painting turkey I knew that Emily was going to make one to go along with this book this week! (Thank you Dawn for the idea!!)
I spread paint out on a piece of white paper and then gave Emily q-tips to spread out the paint. I told her to make it look like the turkeys we have been making.

ReplyDeleteI am so very impressed! There is no way Anna would draw anything even remotely resembling an actual turkey, and she is quite a bit older.

This has been one of my sons favorite books this month. I am really impressed with how well she did with the q-tip painting. It looks great!
