This week we read Clifford's First Autumn, by Normand Bridwell. This is a cute book that talks about some of the changes that autumn's cool weather brings, such as pumpkins, leaves changing colors and falling from the trees and kids playing football.
After Emily, Juliette and I read this book we talked about how the leaves on our trees were changing color and falling to the ground. I thought it would be fun to make our own fall leaf collage to go along with this book. Emily was very excited to go on a leaf hunt in the yard to find leaves for our project!

Great fall book and project. We just read Clifford First Halloween here. Anna is on Clifford kick again, but only chooses puppy books :)

We made a digital leaf collage this week and leaf prints. "Fall" seems to be the theme of the week!

Sounds like a delightful book for this time of year. What a fun project. Young children would enjoy this process - the collecting of the leaves, the painting and the gluing.
I just found your blog and am so glad I did! stART is such a great idea--I'll be joining the next one for sure. We went on our own leaf hunt this week (I have a little Juliet also.) Thanks for the great ideas.
