Newspaper Geodesic Dome
When I got my Family Fun magazine in the mail yesterday and saw this geodesic dome made out of newspaper I could not wait to try it! We have dinner with my whole family, which is 13 people every Tuesday night and I didn't even care that they were all going to be at my house in a little bit. Emily and I got right to work on it!
Emily helped me roll the newspaper into long tubes. We needed 100 sheets of newspaper to make the 25 tubes. Emily really only helped me do a couple of them and got bored, but she enjoyed watching and playing with the finished ones!
Emily is helping me tape the ends. Whenever we wrap presents Emily loves to help with the tape so she was a pro at that this part!
Emily and I are cutting the tubes to a uniform length. Since my family arrived, I was able to be in the picture while my sister watched and took the pictures for me!
My brother, Uncle Scott staples the tubes together while Emily watched.
As soon as he saw what we were doing he wanted to help. He loves this kind of stuff!

Uncle Scott stapling the pieces together.
We were all hard at work!
Emily climbing through her Geodesic Dome!!
She loves it!!
Uncle Scott squeezed himself in, he loves it too!!
We had so much fun and a lot of laughs working on this project together and it was a great way to use of 100 sheets of newspaper!!!
We are already planning to make a larger one to play with in the yard on a nice day since this one came out smaller than the one in the magazine.
If you want to make one too just click on the link at the top for complete directions!!
How cool is THAT?!? And I love how the rest of your family got involved and helped out. Go team! :)
