Our Art Cart
To keep all of our art supplies organized I use the 20 drawer cart that used to be the mailbox system for my 4th grade classroom. When I stopped teaching after I had Emily it hung out in the basement waiting to be used again. After my husband finished our laundry room/office I finally had a place to put it and all our art supplies.
In our art cart I have similar arts and crafts items in each drawer.
- paint and paint brushes
- pom poms, pipe cleaners, Popsicle sticks, straws
- adhesives - glue, tape, staples, Velcro
- play-doh
- play-doh accessories
- collage materials
- construction paper
- stickers
- markers
My goal is to add a picture of what is inside the drawer and a label with the description of what is in each drawer.
Emily knows the sticker, paper and play-doh drawers and gets the supplies she needs when she wants to do those activities.

Great idea! I like the labeling with the photo. We could use a system like this. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love that cart! I would love to have that!
ReplyDeleteI love that cart. I've seen them online...where did you get yours, if you don't mind my asking?
ReplyDeleteI got my cart from Costco for $40 about 5 years ago. I have seen them online, but they were more expensive.
ReplyDeleteI bought the same carts 2 of them from Costco! Our art cabinet we call it.
ReplyDeleteThat is so great....I want to get mine organized that way! Right now, I'm using shoes boxes and one of those plastic drawer systems that I bought from Target a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI love this cart and your labeling idea is so smart.
ReplyDeleteThis card is really neat. I assume that the top boxes are too much for Emily to reach yet? I really like small boxes more, because they keep me from just dumping many things into bigger boxes.
ReplyDeleteUgh, i so need to get one of these! I wish they werent so expensive :(
